With the recent concerns over broker-solvency in FOREX we learned all the important questions that we need to ask to proactive and educated consumers.

Questions to Ask your FOREX Broker:

• Regulation
• Are you registered with the NFA/SEC in the United States?
• Are you registered as a Forex Broker, Futures Broker, or Both?
• Have any disciplinary actions been filed against you in the past?
• Is my trade account being held in a ‘customer segregated account’?
• Data & Spreads
• Who will be my data-provider?
• Who is your liquidity provider?
• Do your spreads and/or margins change when I trade Mini-Lots?
• In addition to the spread, will there be any added costs or fees per trade?
• Trading & Fills
• How do you fill my order?
• Deal-Desk
• ECN
• Straight-through-Processing
• Margins
• If I hold a trade overnight or over the weekend, what is the interest on the ‘carry’?
• Does your system take me out of a position if my account is about to go into the red?
